Childcare is an acute challenge for employers and families in Black Hawk County. Iowa Child Care Resource & Referral reported in 2015 that the county had lost 40% of its childcare centers and programs, leaving a deficit of 3,000 childcare spaces. Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago crafted an article showcasing the impact local organizations, including the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, are making to meet childcare needs. The weather was absolutely perfect on Thursday during our team's afternoon with Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity! We are excited to have contributed to the Women Build, and to now add "window installation" to our list of skills. Thank you to all those who helped make this happen! #HereForGood
